One Easy Way to Not Make Money Online

by Joe Mudd on August 16, 2008

Yes it’s true, I make the mistakes so you don’t have to.

You’re welcome.

If you’ve had an interest in making money online for more than a day, you know that one way to all those internet riches is affiliate marketing.

Sell other people’s stuff. Get paid. Simple.

So I was going to make a bundle by sending people to Naomi Dunford’s ebook Ninja SEO School.

It’s a good book. Great info. I wrote this really fabulous review article. All the stuff the gurus tell us to do.

One tiny problem. I screwed up the link.

You see, sometime my right hand – the one in charge of the “I” key, decides to show its dominance over my left hand – the one in charge of the ‘E” key. And sure enough, in my link to the sales page, right there where the the E is supposed to be in SEO, there was an I – SIO.

After typing out the first link, I used copy and paste on the rest – so I wouldn’t mess them up. So all the links where screwed up.

My link to SIO School didn’t make a cent. My chance for fame and fortune crushed.

So what should YOU learn from my screw up?

  1. Check your links. Many times. If the link is supposed to earn money check it maybe 20 or 30 times.
  2. Smack your right hand every now and again to keep it in its place.
  3. Test your links often.
  4. Copy and paste is a good idea – if you copy the correct stuff.
  5. Check your links.

This screw up is just another service I provide to you, my dear reader.

Who needs money anyway.

P.S. Check your links.
